New to this. Had worms for 3 days now and worms are escaping. Moist levels ok. I've only fed them a small handful of food what came with them. The worms do look very thin. Any advice or suggestions please.

Just keep returning them, they will settle down in a few days. I kept my wormery inside a large bin liner at night for the first couple of days in the garage and left the light on as they don’t like the light. The number of escapees reduces quickly, but have a good hunt round, I was finding them everywhere the first night

Have they settled down a bit buddy? Hopefully they have come to the conclusion that the wormery is the safest place to be. I’ve read before here that the first generation are a bit like this, once new ones are born they no know better and won’t venture far!

Still seeing them on the roof and the sump. 2/3 escaping. There on top of paper shreddings in a ball in the corner, but now I've put them in box they come in. It's 10c is that too cold for them

Good news that the amount is less

The reason they wander is because the wormery is too sterile in the beginning,
Make sure you added some old compost to the mixture.

Don't stress too much about the odd one or 2, they breed quite quickly and are soon replaced

Hi Buddy, you will find there are always some worms that prefer the sump or the lid hopefully they will grow out of it.
Re the temperature 10c should not be a problem, it’s not ideal and breeding and casting production won’t break any records but your worms will be fine and raring to go when it gets a little warmer.

Thanks for that lads I had a word with them, I told them if they stay in all night I'll take them to Nandos at the weekend

Thanks for your advice lads. Is it ok to micro shredder for the paper? or should I just tear big strips off. As the paper is sticking to the bodies.
