Hi,
Just contemplating adding in a second tray. Is the expectation that you never fill the tray above the level that allows it to slot and rest on the plastic stoppers. If I do this it implies that I can never add more than 2 inches of stuff to a tray.
Or is it acceptable to have the tray so that it actually rests on the food / material in the tray below?
Thanks.
Andy.

Resting on the food is absolutely fine Andy, they don’t get crushed. I added the extra tray for insulation rather than necessity.

Hi Andy, it is important not to have an over full tray under a tray of finished castings. Castings weigh a lot and can compress the contents of the tray below but a tray of shredded paper weighs little and will do little harm to the tray below. The depth of the contents of the lower tray will be reduced as the worms work on it.
The stops help to prevent two full trays sticking together and to maintain a air gap.
