It's how they are made - it's the drilling that possibly causes the problem
When we drill the lid and the tray it's possible that the drill bit is slightly too big, or that it isn't totally straight
We used to use a smaller drill bit, and you had to physically screw the tap to get it in.
The Chinese ones from our competitors are probably made with the holes already moulded
I'll look into it (at some point !)
New wormery leaking?
RE: New wormery leaking?
I have received the washer today, Thanks.
I will sort it when I get time and report back.,

RE: New wormery leaking?
The washer was added between the the two layers, not on the outside, (tap).
You can do this by threading it on a piece of string and pulling it into place before pushing the tap through.
Now sealed after some work on the holes, which were very roughly drilled!
The cheap Chinese wormery that I recently bought cheaply off ebay has three washers.

The Chinese wormeries are probably moulded with the hole in place.
It was impossible for us to do it that way, unless we made a complete new part - which would be mega expensive !

RE: New wormery leaking?
I would suggest you ensure there is good flat contact between surfaces after drilling.
Also supply an extra washer (I was unable to find one of that size?)
Include instructions re use of a cord threaded through washer/ sump hole
to pull it into place.

Stick a bit of plumbers mate or silicon around the washers if your tap joint is dripping.
