Hi
Spider Mites
The white dots are spider mites, they won't harm the worms and aid in the composting process.
However if a worm has died you will see the worm totally covered in them.
get rid of any maggots if you can, fly eggs are often on the food when it goes into a wormery

Re: white dots
hi
yes they probably are maggots, baby worms are very small thin and white.
don't worry too much the maggots will be eating any dead or decomposing food, so will aid the process, keep your food covered at all times so any flies cant lay their eggs on them and hopefully they will soon go
