Relocating my wormery to ...

Post by wurmweiler » Sun Aug 30, 2015 11:25 am

I've just relocated my wormery after the offer to use an approx. 300 sqm garden (private allotment) that has a shed with verandah, veg patches, water tanks (run off), 5 apple trees and two pear trees, and a stretch of Cherry Laurel hedge. For the first three months my wormery was in my cellar.

I found a spot for the wormery that enjoys shade for most of the day (north facing side of the hedge) because it's really hot here again, 35 degrees C today cooling off by mid week. I also added a shallow layer of mown grass above the cardboard covering and dampened with a little water.

Almost all the worms are now in the new tray, very pleased, there are so many worms of all different sizes plus for the first time I saw worm eggs. I'll add another tray soon too.
