Just fed my worms a block of out of date tofu I found hiding at the back of the fridge, it’s something I’ve never fed them before.

Hope you are all staying safe and well during these difficult times

I topped up all my wormeries with grass clippings, shredded paper and coffee grounds yesterday. The grass clippings are beneath the paper.

Be careful with grass clippings, they can heat up and can result it the bin becoming anaerobic (without oxygen) if it should do this worms can quickly die.

Yeah I'm careful with my grass clippings. There's only a thin layer in each wormery and there's plenty of shredded paper and cardboard in there too to dilute it. I find that the worms will dig into it as and when they decide it's okay to do so. 🙂👍

Fed banana skins, apple peelings, lettuce, bread, tomatoes, potato peelings, coffee grounds and cucumber. All are chopped in a mini food chopper.
The worms love them. Within hours it is heaving with worms especially babies.
Gives quicker results.

Your worms are eating better than me. All good stuff and a nice diverse mix of food no wonder they jump on it.

Stay safe

I have been away for a few days in my Motorhome. At one place we stayed there were a couple of crabapple trees. We collected some (quite a few). When we got home we made crabapple jelly. The worms are loving what was left in the bag after straining out the juice.
You can also chop or mince the crabapples and serve raw.

We used to have a fish pond, long gone after the local cats had a fish supper. Anyway the wife found a long forgotten 500g drum of fish food in the shed. The worms loved it, I just hope they don’t all go down to the sump for a swim.

I’ve been away in my motor home for a week. On one site there was a lot of wind fall apples.
I gathered up two large carrier bags full. Now we are home we will prepare the best of the apples for pie fillings and Freeze for later use, the rest plus the cores and peelings will go into the worm food caddy and provide a feed for the herd for a week or so.

I've discovered that both my husband and my worms love red cabbage!
