Welcome to the forum...
It sounds to me like your little wigglers, have been a bit active in another department ;) ;) ;)
perhaps with that very small bit of warmer weather that we had the worms eggs have hatched and you are now welcoming the next generation.

Enjoy them whilst they are young - they grow so quickly
