yes, its recommended - helps the worms to settle in1. can I add bought potting compost, left over from the bulbs to the initial mix...ie with the coir?
yes - worms love these2. could I also put in some broken up egg boxes at this stage?
they would love it - leave it a week though until you feed it to the worms, and drain of most of the excess liquid3. I have a coffe jar (about 500ml) of tomatoes that were soggy, so I put them in there and they have been in the sun for 3 weeks. Now there is lots of liquid and seeds, no mould or rotting stuff and some pulp. I was going to put it on the bulbs, but wondered if the worms would like it?
They probably know what season it is (but don't quote me on this !!) , but its the temperature that dictates their composting ability.Last one.... if I kept the wormery in the kitchen, with stable all year round temperature.....would the worms know what season it was?
is their behaviour just dictated by temperature or do they have also some kind of body clock?
