they do sound like red worms.

As to how worms act when in a bin - well actually they don't do much, when they are cold or stressed they do huddle in a ball, but thats normal.
As you said they like the conditions, as they are happy to stay, so carry on doing what you are, and don't overfeed !!

Hi
wait until the food that you have given them has started to go (or when there is very little left) before you give them any more.
It wont take long for them to reproduce - when you have sufficient numbers you can add more food

Sorry I missed that bit !

open the bags and sprinkle the contents. Tea bag paper seem to take ages to compost down - but will do eventually
