Frozen fruit

Post by Poppi » Sun Jun 12, 2022 1:54 pm

Hello all

Now that the new fruit season is upon me, I wonder if my worms could have my blackcurrants from the freezer. I have bags dated 2020 / 2019  Not made the jam yet.

Obviously would thaw them, would they be suitable for my worms or should they go into the compost.

Thanks

Yea they will love them plus they will welcome all the trimming from this years fruit as well. If you have hot weather you don’t need to thaw the fruit out just put it in one area of your bin, the worms will use it like an air conditioner moving closer to is when they want to cool down and away if they get cold.

Hope you have a good harvest
Willy
