Re: What did you feed your worms today?
I'm just back from a trip and our dog is still at the kennels so today my worms got mash potatoe and baked beans which would normally have gone to the dog.

Re: Slugs and snails
Hi. I think my first choice would be the old fashion beer trap to start with. Also check round your bin and clear away anything that may be providing shelter for the slugs to breed. You could also put some copper tape (from the garden centre) round the base of you bin to stop slugs\snails climbing u...

Winterizing your worms.
Hi everybody. It's mid November and the freezing weather will hit soon. Have you taken any steps to asist your worms through the long cold winter. I moved my bins into my unheated greenhouse a couple of weeks ago and today I've wrapped them in bubble wrap. What have you done or are planning to do to...

Re: Baby Worms
Hi Wormy. Yea move a good handful of the old bedding and castings into the new tray plus some new bedding to fill the tray about one third of its depth. I would feed the feed you have been using in the old tray. The more familiar things are the quicker the worms will migrate up. I keep some of my ow...

Re: worm eggs
Hi Welcome. Congratulations on your forth coming birthing event. The yellow balls are worm eggs, the eggs get darker the nearer to hatching they get. Each egg will hold on average three worms so your herd will start to grow fast now.
Well done what a great start.

Re: Baby Worms
Hi Wormy. In general everything seems to be going very well. The bugs and things joining your worms in the bin are all part of the composing process. The best control is to cover the bedding with a piece of cardboard cut to fit snug. The other thing you could do is cook or freeze the scraps before p...

Re: What did you feed your worms today?
My worms are enjoying a traditional Halloween meal today. Somebody had smashed a Halloween pumpkin lantern in the street, I gathered it up as a treat for my worms. They seem to love it.
What a great way to recycle all thos lanterns.
