Re: Using Spent Compost
I think therefore the density of my feeding tray is too low. I do start it with shredded paper but the quickly reduces in space and i have been adding cardboard more to cover the food than bulk up. In the last week i have just been adding eggboxes and cardboard tubes as i get them, but i don’t reall...

Re: Using Spent Compost
I'm not getting harvests anywhere near that quick, it’s more like 12-14 weeks for me. I probably need to fill my feeding tray with a lot more cardboard as i don’t bury food(there is nothing to bury it in), i more like cover the food.

Re: Increasing wormery efficiency
I’m not convinced the woodlice are too happy in there. There are a fair few dead woodlice as well as some that seem fine. Not sure whether they are different species, but the same woodlice seemed happy in the compost bin they were harvested from. I will see how they progress.

Re: What did you feed your worms today?
Here’s a question. I have been composting cotton pads (only had water on them, nothing else) and they seem to breakdown well. Re: Increasing wormery efficiency
By way of an update, i added more woodlice to each wormery. The worms appeared happy and a number of the original woodlice i added were not so visible, but found a few in lower trays pottering around. I will keep an eye to see how visible they will be next time i check.
