Re: How to best empty wormery trays
Hi Leo, glad the harvesting of your castings went ok. We always welcome questions here so never be afraid to ask. Our worms will eat far less in the winter than the summer. During the warmer months I share out approximately 4 litres of food between my 7 worm bins per day. In the winter it’s one to o...

Re: How to best empty wormery trays
Hi good to hear your worms are doing so well. Where to start🙃 Firstly I’m amazed no local allotment holder wanted your castings. if I had an offer like that I would have bitten your hand off then given you a cabbage. Even a small garden and a few house plants will easily take a tray or two of worm c...

Re: Worms are decreasing/dying
What a waste of space. Why do they wasted their time, even if I wanted one I would not buy from a spammer.

Re: Worms are decreasing/dying
Sorry a few more questions, Have you noticed an increase in the number of worms leaving the bin? Have you noticed any bad smells coming from your bin?

Re: Worms are decreasing/dying
Hi, could you please provide a bit more info.
Are you saying your worm bin is made up of two trays/boxes? Is it diy storage box bin or a purchased stacking bin? Where do you keep your bin, inside or out? Have you only harvested casting once in three years? Are the “baby” worms pure white in colour?

Re: 6ish Weeks in, what do I do now?
Maybe half to a cupful every few days. Did you come across the four “corner feeding technique” when you were reading the forum? This will help reduce the risk of over feeding. The biggest danger is over feeding particularly with an immature bin. Remember worms will readily eat bedding, I have one bi...

Chopping them up small with a knife or kitchen scissors (£2 from one of the High Street budget shops) which is the way I do it.
Another way is to pop the food scraps into the microwave for a minute or two, this will soften them and make it easier for the microbes and the worms to eat.

Re: 6ish Weeks in, what do I do now?
Hi Red, welcome to the world of worms. The colder weather at this time of year means things move much slower in the worm world. From the info you have provided you are doing a great job for your worms. In the summer I was feeding two or three litres of food per day between my 6 or 7 worm bins at the...

Re: Another newbie wormer
Hi Sal, good to hear things are going well. Paper wet or dry is a carbon (brown) bedding however worms will use it as if there is nothing else.
Keep up the good work.

I think you should reply “on topic” and not use generalisation to creep in via the back door loop-hole
