Many thanks Lilwriggler - that sounds like a good idea, I think perhaps I should try that - gives them a couple of extra 'rooms' to explore if they fancy a change of scene too! I imagine there's probably still some coir bedding in the bottom of this first tray but I haven't wanted to disturb them to...

Wondering about when to add next tray! Have had wormery 10 weeks now so been feeding for the last 8, just small amounts twice a week which are being eaten. Finely chopped mixed vegetables and banana skin with a side salad, apple purée and teabag sprinkles, all served on a bed of shredded cardboard! (Almost) good enough to eat myself. Thank you so much for my wormery, I'm loving it and have become mildly obsessed. I bought it early September and all seems to be going well so far, now moved from a sheltered spot outside into the shed where they can stay over winter. It's like having pets without vets - I want to give them the best...
