Re: Help needed! bugs and keeping a wormery inside

Hi, if they are springtails they present no threat to you, your family, your home or your worms. Re: Feeding Worms

Good morning, welcome to the forum. Aged manure makes fabulous food for you herd in fact well aged manure can replace both food and bedding in your worm bin but I think using it in this way would remove a lot of the fun and a lot of the educational opportunities vermicomposting offers. Re: Animal/human hair

Hi nick, welcome to the forum. You are absolutely right about worms not having teeth however they don’t need them. Worms eat very little if any of the food we provide for them. What worms eat are the microbes, fungus and other organisms which break down the food we provide. Hair pet or human can be ...

Re: Winter

If you add more bedding to the top feeding tray add it dry if you wet it you will lose it’s insulation qualities. With a roll of duck tape and a yard or so of bubble wrap you can make a waterproof insulated jacket for your worm bin, be sure to make it big enough to slip on and off easily over the to...

The paper will make good bedding for our worms regardless of the fact that it is spam.
