Thanks Willy. There is some thought that adding sugar/treacle/molasses to the the mix at the beginning gives the tea some extra zest, any confirmation on this or is that purely choice by certain tea makers. Making worm tea
Does the water being used to make the tea need treatment for chlorine etc? I could use tap clear that I use for my aquariums or perhaps use the water from the aquariums.

Thanks Willy. Farm seems to be starting up well, good earthy smell and all appear to be happy enough, no escapees, etc. I believe dead flowers are okay, but are there any to avoid, but what about the stems/roots? The initial layer of damp shredded newspaper is slowly disappearing so do I continue ad...

Feeding
I am just starting to add food waste to my 3 week old worry. I have a pretty good idea what to feed and what not to feed, but I c cannot find any references to ordinary mushrooms and the peelings. I would guess that it would be okay but just checking with the more experienced members of the forum

Farm coming up to 2 weeks old so first meal other than supplied food. Small amounts of chopped black banana peel, apple core and a tea bag. Starting slowly!

Great, thanks for reply and info. True, no clouds on the horizon for quite a time. If and when it does rain, is rainwater preferable? Sometimes I think too much can be read into a subject, complicating matters but I do want to do this properly.

Water for new farm
Expecting farm delivery tomorrow and need to clarify the water to use. Tap water not recommend and to use rain water. Unfortunately we have no rainwater with none expected for the foreseeable future. So, to be on the safe side and set up properly, which water can I safely use.
