Re: Wormery lid.
Hi
That's why we put the holes in the corners so that you can tie the lid on if needed.
We get lots of emails from customers who expect the lid to be escape proof, but soon realise that the worms will stay in situ after the first few days

Why is the sky so high?
I thought this was going to be one of those really 'Deep' questions about life the universe and everything.
Fortunately, the wonderful willyworm can answer such questions

Re: Long time absent but .....
Just to add as well,
Once you have more trays in place the worms won't wander downwards so much.

Re: 1st worm bin
Good news that the amount is less
The reason they wander is because the wormery is too sterile in the beginning,
Make sure you added some old compost to the mixture.
Don't stress too much about the odd one or 2, they breed quite quickly and are soon replaced

Re: Help! Too many pot worms?
Put the eggshells in the oven and cook them you can then use a rolling pin or similar on them to grind into a powder This is perfect for the wormery as not only does it gently change the PH as Willy says but it also gives the worms grit in their gizzard. This will help them grind the food better Ron...
