It’s a good idea to set your bin up asap this allows the microbes and bacteria to colonise (these will be your worms food) the bin and will help avoid the problem of wondering worms during the first few months.

Hi not sure if you are starting a stacking wormery or a storage box wormery. If a stacking bin then I would fill the tray to the top. My filling would be approximately 2cm of damp corrugated cardboard with a handful of compost or woodland/forest floor litter, this will provide the microbes and bacte...

Today I fed my worms a pair of my bamboo shocks one of which had a hole in it. Will be interesting to see how long they last.
